Danish embassy up in flamesToday, Saturday 4th February, has seen no mitigation in the Muslim furor. Protests across the Muslim world, in London, and even in Arab towns in Israel have seen calls for mass-murder to be carried out, deepening the predictable clash of Eurabia.

In Syria, both Danish and Norwegian embassies were torched and Syrian authorities were criticised for doing too little, too late to protect the embassies.

Iran is now “reviewing” its trade links with the countries that have printed the cartoons. So far those countries are:

Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary, New Zealand, Norway, and Poland.

The fact that Iran should be isolated and sanctioned anyway for its mass-murderous nuclear weapons attempt, is beside the point.

British newspaper editors have justified not printing the cartoons by saying that the cartoons were tasteless and that there was no point printing something that would knowingly offend a section of British society or a section of the international community. Their anti-zionist/anti-jewish revisionism is fine though. Funny that.

In Sudan and Palestinian territories, protesters called for Al-Qaeda to come to their rescue and bomb Denmark [hat-tip Augean Stables]. While in London, British Muslims held up banners promising Europe their own 9/11 and a “REAL holocaust”.

The Blogosphere Strikes Back

As American and British newspapers are still too scared to print the cartoons, British and American bloggers have been uniting to defend Denmark and other countries with a Buy Danish campaign and a mass-linking of blogs that contain the cartoons or carry links to the cartoons.

Michelle Malkin has been leading the way with a BlogBlast of shared cartoon links. If you have the cartoons on your blog, add your link here.

Clearly, the Muslim reaction to these cartoons far outweighs the offence of the cartoons themselves. Such behaviour is designed to frighten and to intimidate. If Europeans allow themselves to be frightened and intimidated, then we lose the very freedoms that millions fought to restore and preserve just sixty years ago. From fear, the road to oppression is a very short one.
