Another day, another twist in the Mohammed cartoon saga. We’ve heard a lot about the Moslems who have died protesting and rioting against the cartoons. We hear a lot less about the Jews who are being picked off by Arab gangs in France as “revenge” killings for the cartoons.

It’s still a mystery to much of the globe as to why 12 Danish cartoons of Mohammed drawn by Christian Danes are inspiring such Jew-hatred across the Moslem part of the world, but then again, anti-Jewish antisemitism has been rife in much of the Moslem quarter for centuries. Why should they change the habit of a lifetime now?

If you are Jewish, I recommend that you take steps to protect yourself both online and off. What was done in Paris could be done anywhere. Likewise, if - like me - you are posting critical articles on your blog about the Mohammed cartoons and the riotous reaction, you should take steps to protect yourself - regardless of your religion.

As they used to say in Arabic: “Salaam Aleikam”.
